About
Note: this show will feature some strobe lighting effects.

Set in the near future in an alternative reality Brussels, where the EU is becoming a far-right dominated entity trying to recreate the Roman Empire, the play focuses on the power of disinformation and how it can be used by wanting autocrats to reach their political objectives, diminish democracy, and mould and re-write reality and history. The road from populism to dictatorship was laid long ago, when Octavian Caesar Augustus used propaganda and disinformation to isolate Marcus Antonius by pretending that the emerging war was not fought against a Roman hero but against a sneaky and cunning foreign regime made all the more dangerous because it was led by a woman. In fact, Roman propaganda painted Cleopatra as a manipulative whore, and much of that view is what has survived until very recently. This war is considered by scholars as the first propaganda and disinformation war. It is a very modern, exciting, and thought-provoking production. There will be lots of battles too!
