I am delighted to announce that Ronaldo Crispim, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, will be leading an exceptional 3-hour immersion workshop in Montreuil this summer, exploring Brazilian rhythms, vocal and body percussion, and the improvisational games of Musica do Circulo.
Who is Ronaldo Crispim? He is a musician, teacher, and songwriter who has been dedicated to body percussion since 2007. He studied with Fernando Barba, creator of Barbatuques, and was one of the coordinators of the body music group Fritos for 7 years in São Paulo. He is also the creator and member of the children's music group Batucantante. Co-founder of the Institut Música do Círculo, Ronaldo Crispim is responsible, along with Pedro Consorte and Zuza Gonçalves, for training new leaders in this practice inside and outside Brazil, particularly in Europe.
What is Musica do Circulo? It's a pedagogy and a practice of musical creation nourished and inspired by Bobby McFerrin's circlesong universe, Fernando Barba's body percussion work, Stenio Mendes' improvisational games, and cooperative pedagogies. It's also an experience of joyful and beautiful human connection, stimulating creativity, expression, listening, affection, and presence.
If these words resonate with you and if you want to develop your musicality in a caring environment, with your body and voice as your only instruments, you are very welcome.
