Practical informations & FAQ
How to get to campus
The campus is located in the heart of Ixelles, one of Brussels’ municipalities. The campus is accessible by bus and tram; Google Maps supports Brussels public transportation, and you can download the STIB/MIVB app on your smartphone to view real-time schedules. No need to buy tickets—you can scan your bank card or your smartphone using Apple Pay or Google Pay at the gray and blue terminals inside the vehicles.
Recommendations for accommodations
Since the campus is well-connected by public transportation, you can afford to find housing in neighborhoods farther from the university. As in most cities, the areas around train stations aren’t the safest places. The Cimetière d’Ixelles neighborhood is located right next to the campus and is very busy and lively; it’s mostly frequented by students. If you’re looking for a quieter area, the Chatelin neighborhood on tram line 8 is more residential.
Why is there a mandatory €50 membership fee ?
Unlike previous editions, which required a separate membership fee to CuttingEEG in order to register for the conferences, the CuttingEEG board has requested that we simplify the process by covering this €50 membership fee, which will be donated in full to the CuttingEEG association. This fee will be used to support the association’s operations and to cover the costs of the global sessions that will be streamed during the garden.
