Coaching Clinic 100 m Freestyle: Review, Outlook, and the Road to Gold 2028
About
On November 28, 2026, from 2:00–6:00 p.m., and November 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (Berlin, Central European Time), the online education course “100 m Freestyle – Review, Outlook, Road to Gold 2028” brings together some of the most influential minds in international swimming.

Across eight high-level sessions, world-class coaches, elite athletes, and leading sports scientists provide exclusive insights into the key success factors of sprint freestyle—the premier discipline of swimming—from technique and athletic development to diagnostics, analytics, data, and pathways to the top of the world stage.

Among the speakers is Josha Salchow, German record holder and 2024 Olympic finalist, who shares his personal journey to the world elite. Coaching legend Norbert Warnatzsch explains what it takes to develop Olympic champions. Ian Armiger presents his international training philosophy for 100 m freestyle sprinters, while Marina Spotke highlights the importance of neuromuscular stability in elite performance.

The sports science perspective is provided by Dr. Patricia-Ann Schikore (IAT Leipzig) with an analytical examination of the success factors in the 100 m freestyle, and Stephan Nüsser, who delivers practical insights into lactate, glucose, and energy metabolism.

Technological innovations round out the program: James Bretscher explains underwater performance and the HydroWing concept, while Sander Schreven and Roald van der Vliet from InnoSportLab Eindhoven demonstrate how data and video analysis can measurably make swimmers faster.

All presentations last 45 minutes plus Q&A, totaling 8 hours of concentrated elite knowledge, delivered in German and English with simultaneous translation.
