The legendary Grand Bara Regional Cross-Country Race returns at the end of 2025, set in an exceptional location — a 15-kilometer / 9.3 miles, course through the heart of the Djiboutian desert.
For its 42nd edition, the Grand Bara Cross is organized by the Djiboutian Athletics Federation (FDA) in partnership with the French Forces in Djibouti (FFDj), the original creators of the event.
This year, the race proudly joins the World Athletics circuit, bringing it into the network of the world’s most prestigious running events.
The Grand Bara Cross-Country Race is open exclusively to runners aged 18 and over.
To give a wider audience the chance to experience this extraordinary event, the “Crystal Bara” offers a 7-kilometer / 4.3 miles, race on the same course, open to participants aged 16 and above.
