Chirp, chirp, chirp: write in the voice of a bird!
What if, instead of using words, we chirped or squawked our writings? In this workshop, you will draw inspiration from birdsong and bird calls to write poems that chirp, trill, caw, and warble! Texts will place more importance on sound rather than word meaning. Like that, your writings can take flight!
IMPORTANT: For Simon to accommodate non-French speakers, select the “ENGLISH OPTION” when booking (it’s free!), and to do so at least 7 days before the workshop date.LANGUAGE NOTE: Workshops will be conducted mainly in French. Non-French speakers are welcome to attend the afternoon adult sessions, provided that they are comfortable in English. When available, French texts translated into English will be provided to these participants. The workshop organizer, Simon, will translate all writing prompts, with some artistic license taken. Participants may share their writings in their chosen language. Keep in mind that the group’s understanding will vary depending on its proficiency in the given language. FYI: Simon is a native French speaker, is proficient in English, and has a basic level of Spanish and Italian.
NOTE: for this session, English texts may not be available for inspiration, but participants will be provided a writing prompt in English. Contact Simon should you have a question.
