Spend a day exploring a medieval village just outside Montpellier, and meet other newcomers along the way.
Twenty minutes from Montpellier, at the foot of the Pic Saint-Loup, Les Matelles has a charm that many locals have yet to discover. Stone lanes, old ramparts, wild garrigue all around: the perfect setting to start feeling at home in your new region.
What’s planned
- A guided tour with a local resident: the village’s history, hidden corners and the stories only people who live there know.
- A picnic of local produce: a selection from nearby producers, shared in the open air.
- New connections: a small group of French and international newcomers to swap tips, ask questions and leave with new contacts.
Practical details
- Meeting point: 9:15 am at the Occitanie tram station (end of tram line 1)
- Return: back in Montpellier around 3:30 pm
- Price: €50 per person, all inclusive: return transport, guided tour and picnic
- Limited to 12 people
- Bring: comfortable shoes and clothes suited to the weather
