THE STRANGER:
The Stranger follows Meursault, a man living in French Algeria whose way of experiencing the world feels very different from what society expects. He moves through everyday life focused on simple physical realities, the sun, the sea, the heat, rather than emotions or big moral reflections. The novel explores how society reacts to someone who doesn’t express feelings or behave in the “normal” way.
Through Meursault’s perspective, Camus introduces themes of absurdity, isolation, freedom, and the search for meaning in a world that doesn’t always offer clear answers.
