WHY GO?
The Ultimate Arctic Road Trip from Santa’s Village to the Edge of Europe
Step into a real-life winter fairytale on a multi-country Arctic road trip that begins in the magical holiday heartland of Finnish Lapland and leads you to the northernmost edge of continental Europe.
- Where Holiday Magic Begins (Rovaniemi & Santa Claus Village): Start your journey by crossing the Arctic Circle at Rovaniemi—the official home of Santa Claus. Immerse yourself in festive winter markets, send postcards with Santa's official Arctic postmark, and experience the magical atmosphere where Christmas comes alive year-round.
- Exploring the Lapland Wilderness: Venture deeper into Finnish Lapland to embrace the authentic Arctic spirit. Glide through snow-draped forests on a husky sled, race across frozen trails by snowmobile, and visit local Sámi reindeer farms to discover living Indigenous traditions, ancient storytelling, and local handicrafts.
- An Epic Road Trip to Nordkapp (Where Europe Ends): Embark on a dramatic drive from the snowy pine forests of Finland across frozen frontiers into Norway, heading all the way to North Cape (Nordkapp). Standing on a dramatic 307-meter high cliff rising sheer out of the icy Arctic Ocean, this is the symbolic end of mainland Europe—a bucket-list destination where nothing lies between you and the North Pole except frozen waters.
- The Celestial Dance of Guovssahas: With long, dark polar nights providing ideal viewing conditions, experience the magic of the Northern Lights painting the Arctic sky. A spectacle as old as Earth’s atmosphere, the Aurora Borealis appears in 30,000-year-old cave paintings, features on Sámi shamanistic drums as Guovssahas (“the light that can be heard”), and was revered in Viking lore as the flickering armor of the Valkyrie warriors.

WHAT IS THE DETAILED PLAN?
Day 1 - Meet & Great + Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) hunting
Travel to Rovaniemi from your respective homes and meet the guide at the airport or at the accommodation (based on your arrival time), and then we are off on our first night of Northern lights hunting.
Day 2 - Santa Village + Discover Rovaniemi + Northern lights hunting
Post breakfast, we head to Santa village to meet Santa and also cross over to the Arctic circle. Once we are done, we are off to explore Rovaniemi and surroundings followed by dinner and then we are off Northern lights hunting.
Day 3 - Roadtrip Finnish Lapland + Northern lights hunting
Post checkout, we drive from Rovaniemi to Karigasniemi one of Northern Europe’s most iconic Arctic road trips, covering roughly 450 km (280 miles) of shifting boreal forests, open fells, and Sámi heartland.
Day 4 - Roadtrip to Northcape + Northern Lights hunting
Post breakfast, we are off on a road trip to North cape. During the road trip we would be making a few stops along the way to see some of the cute fishing villages. At the north cape, we checkout the museum and the amazing views offered from the visitor centre. On the way back, we stop for dinner in a town along the way and then post dinner we are off Northern hunting on the way back to Finland.
Day 5 - Roadtrip to Rovaniemi + Northern lights hunting
Journeying along Finland’s western corridor shifts the landscape from open frontier tundra into vast taiga forests and alpine fell country. Experience the transition from raw, open Arctic tundra near the Norwegian border into the tall pine forests and round-topped fells (tunturi) of western Lapland. The stretch passing through Pokka offers some of the quietest driving in Europe, giving you a sense of solitude surrounded by untouched wilderness.
Day 6 - Goodbye & See you in a future trip
Check out of the accommodation and head to the airport and say our goodbyes before heading back to our respective homes. Note: If you have an earlier flight, we can drop you off before to the airport as well.
