This journey begins in Catania, beneath the shadow of Mount Etna — Europe’s highest and most active volcano. From walking across dramatic black lava fields to exploring volcanic craters and experiencing breathtaking views across the Ionian Sea, Sicily immediately reveals its raw natural power.

 

We then travel to Taormina, one of the most beautiful destinations in Italy, where ancient Greek history, elegant streets, panoramic terraces and Mediterranean beaches come together in one spectacular setting.

 

The journey continues south to Syracuse and Ortygia, where ancient Greek heritage, Baroque architecture, historic streets and beautiful coastal scenery create one of Sicily’s most fascinating cultural experiences.

Day 0 — Arrival in Catania & Settle into Accommodation
Arrive in Catania, Sicily, and meet your guide and fellow participants.
Instead of rushing straight into sightseeing, we take time to settle into the accommodation and enjoy the atmosphere of this fascinating Sicilian city.

This day is about slowing down, settling into the island and preparing for the incredible adventure ahead.
The journey begins with the warm air, vibrant streets and unmistakable atmosphere of Sicily.
Day 1 — Mount Etna Guided Volcano Hike
After breakfast, we head towards Mount Etna, Europe’s highest and most active volcano.
Today, we experience one of Sicily’s most extraordinary natural environments.
Our guided Etna experience includes:

Walking across the volcanic landscapes of Mount Etna feels almost surreal.
Black volcanic rock stretches across the mountain. Steam rises from the earth. Craters reveal the incredible power of nature.
It feels almost like stepping onto another planet.
The landscape is raw, dramatic and completely unforgettable.
After descending from Mount Etna, we return to our accommodation and enjoy a relaxed evening.
Day 2 — Taormina Guided Tour → Dinner → Beach Time
Today we travel to Taormina, Sicily’s famous hilltop jewel.
Perched dramatically above the Mediterranean coastline, Taormina combines ancient history, beautiful architecture, charming streets and spectacular scenery.

The town’s story stretches through Greek, Roman, Arab and Norman influences, with each period leaving its mark on the architecture, culture and atmosphere of the city.
Every street, square and terrace offers a new view.
Afternoon: Dinner & Sicilian Cuisine
After exploring Taormina, we enjoy a relaxed meal together.
Depending on the group and availability, we may choose a restaurant overlooking the sea or a traditional restaurant tucked inside the historic old town.

Food is an important part of the Sicilian experience — and this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy it together.
Evening: Beach Time at Isola Bella
As the day continues, we head towards Isola Bella.
Take the cable car down towards the coast and enjoy a beautiful Mediterranean evening.

A perfect combination of culture, food and Mediterranean beach life.
Day 3 — Syracuse & Ortygia → Ancient History & Coastal Beauty
We leave Catania and travel south along the beautiful Sicilian coastline towards Syracuse.
Syracuse is one of Sicily’s most historically important cities and was once one of the most powerful cities in the ancient Mediterranean world.
Our main focus is the beautiful island of Ortygia.
Here, we explore a fascinating combination of:

Ortygia is a place where ancient civilizations and everyday Sicilian life blend together.
As we walk through the historic streets, we discover layers of Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman and Baroque history.
The atmosphere is completely different from Catania and Taormina — offering a beautiful final chapter to our Sicilian adventure.

After exploring Syracuse and Ortygia, the organised Sicily trip concludes.
Participants continue their onward journey directly from Syracuse according to their individual travel plans.

No return to the accommodation is planned after the Day 3 exploration.
