Need a break from Toulouse?
Come explore Foix, a charming town at the gateway to the Pyrenees, famous for its medieval streets and the spectacular Château de Foix overlooking the valley — a perfect nature + history escape for a day.
At AEGEE Toulouse, our trips are designed a bit differently. We invite you to take an active role in shaping your own experience, building your day around what you enjoy most, while also developing your planning skills.
We’ll share tips on the must-see attractions and suggest a social program you’re free to join (or not). Please note that any activities or visits are at your own expense. One or more AEGEE volunteers will be there to support the group and help things run smoothly.
To confirm your registration and get access to the WhatsApp group and travel guide, you'll need to purchase your train ticket and upload it through the registration form. All listed costs are estimates based on prices at the time of planning; they may vary depending on external factors.
Foix is ideal for a relaxed daytrip: we’ll start with a walk through the old town, then head up to the Château de Foix for panoramic views and a deep dive into local history. After lunch, we’ll suggest a scenic stroll by the river and, if the group feels like it, a short hike to a viewpoint nearby to enjoy the mountains.
Here is the program we are suggesting (Friday, 14th March):
10:46 – Departure (train)
12:00 – Arrival + start of the city walk (free)
13:15 – Lunch at a restaurant or picnic (≈ €15 if restaurant)
14:15 – Visit of the Château de Foix (paid, optional)
15:30 – Riverside walk / old town free time (free)
17:00 – Train back to Toulouse
18:13 – Arrival in Toulouse
Train ticket price: €8 one way (≈ €16 round trip)
