The hits of the 60-70 in its original version
Not everyone knows that Edith Piaf's famous "La Foule" would not exist without the Argentine song
" Que nadie sepa mi sufrir "; nor that the popular song from Venezuela “La Ternura” became “La Tendresse”, the great success of Bourvil and Marie Lafôret., without forgetting the inseparable from Ana Belen’s staple repertoire “Solo le pido a dios”, a song that came from Argentina.
ENSEMBLE ACHALAY brings us these songs back in their original version. A group of legend that conquered "l'Escale" and other fashionable cabarets of the Quartier Latin of Paris in the 60s-80s, author of five vinyls and a CD recorded last year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the creation of the group.
At the time, they were pioneers in associating the quena, the guitar, and the charango in the first recorded version in Europe of the famous "El Condor Pasa".
Today, the group renewed by Gilberto Piedras, a French-Argentine musician and singer, a virtuoso of the harp and 20 other instruments, the member of the ENSEMBLE ACHALAY from the 1978 to 1987, presents the hits of the 60s-70s of the French song, and not only French, wrapped in the Andean winds of the music of the legendary group formed in 1958 in Paris. This concert GRACIAS A LA VIDA sung in French and Spanish, which is a first presentation of the group in Spain, draws a line between the South American and European music culture. Four virtuous musicians, an Argentine singer ...the magic sounds of arpa, quena, quenacho, moceño, ronroco, charango, guitar, zampoña, sikus, tiple, cuatro, bombo …
The concert takes place in the Basilicaa Santa Maria del Pi , set on an elegant square of the Gothic Barrio of Barcelona. Are you going to miss it?
