TINY GLASS PERSON (April, 16 - May, 7)
Based on Gianni Rodari's "Grammatica della fantasia" chapter where he explains how to create characters based on different elements. In this class, we will work on the infinite possibilities and combinations of elements, objects, animals, sensations, and feelings to achieve stronger and deeper characters.
QUARTER POUNDER WITH CHEESE (May, 14 - June, 4)
"The devil is in the details", and that is why we will explore the possibilities of dialogue to expand the psychology of the characters, their ideas, tastes, fears, and particularities which, in the end, are our own. We will leave the narrative aside to explore the scene as an independent dramaturgic unit.
SEVEN POSSIBLE FUTURES (June, 11 - July, 2)
We've been taught that when we improvise a story we should stay in the present. Agree. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't think about the future. During this class, we will work on the different possible outcomes of our stories using Christopher Booker's concepts of meta-plot and basic plots. You will learn how to identify the kind of story you are in and understand what it needs to land it safely.
