La grande pianiste, chanteuse et compositrice cubaine Jany McPherson, s’amène au Club avec son trio pour nous présenter son nouvel album "A LONG WAY". "Cet album est un hommage à tout ce qui a été ma vie depuis mon enfance à Guantanamo jusqu'à aujourd'hui.. "
Sa musique est une synthèse de différents styles de jazz qu'elle exprime à travers une gamme chromatique riche en nuances, parfois exotique, mais toujours exempte du cliché de la combinaison de rythmes latins et de jazz nord-américaines.
Elle est sans aucun doute l'une des artistes les plus intéressantes du piano jazz de ces dernières années. Très talentueuse, dotée d'un phrasé extrêmement original et d'un langage d'improvisation rendent sa musique et son style immédiatement reconnaissables.
Née à Guantanamo, Jany s'est construit une excellente carrière à Cuba où elle remporte le prestigieux prix" Adolfo Guzman " et collabore avec des artistes tels que Omara Portuondo, Buena Vista Social Club, Orquesta Anacaona, Alain Perez et bien d'autres encore !
Installé depuis de nombreuse année en France, elle se fait saluer par le grand Chucho Valdés en 2020 lors de la sortie de son album "Solo Piano !", et a récemment attiré l'attention de la scène jazz internationale pour sa collaboration avec John McLaughlin, qui apparaît également sur son nouvel album.
On peut apprécier toute la force, le talent et la gamme infinie de couleurs que Jany met sur scène. Authentique show woman, avec un style pianistique extrêmement personnel !
