Originaire de Montréal et installé en Guadeloupe depuis plus de trente ans, le saxophoniste et compositeur Jocelyn Ménard développe une écriture nourrie de jazz, de gwoka, de funk, de biguine et de zouk, dans la droite ligne d'orchestres mythiques comme le Caraïbes Jazz Ensemble, Tropic Fusion ou Fal Frett.
Avec Vibes A Péyi Là, il prolonge la démarche amorcée avec Terre-Mère en livrant un album où l'on passe d'un padjanbel à un blues, d'une biguine à un mendé, sans jamais perdre de vue le latin jazz et le swing. La fusion y est prise au pied de la lettre, dans une ambiance où la température grimpe sans limite.

Originally from Montreal and based in Guadeloupe for over thirty years, saxophonist and composer Jocelyn Ménard has developed a musical style drawing on jazz, gwoka, funk, biguine and zouk, following in the footsteps of legendary bands such as the Caraïbes Jazz Ensemble, Tropic Fusion and Fal Frett.
With *Vibes A Péyi Là*, he builds on the approach he began with *Terre-Mère*, delivering an album that moves from a padjanbel to a blues, from a biguine to a mendé, without ever losing sight of Latin jazz and swing. Fusion is taken quite literally here, in an atmosphere where the temperature soars without limit.
Surrounding him is a team of talented musicians: Fabrice Devienne on piano, whose subtle harmonic colours serve both the groove and the improvisation; Régis Thérèse on bass, providing a foundation that is both solid and fluid; and Arnaud Dolmen on drums, delivering a precise and driving rhythm that bridges Caribbean traditions and the language of contemporary jazz.
