THE SCRIPT
We are on August 1, 1715, and you are sent by Marshal de MONTREVEL, commander of Guyenne, former province of the southwest of France, to Fort Médoc, to check that this fort is well locked...
Indeed, the rumor of an English ship descending on the estuary has been confirmed since yesterday, and the Marshal substantially reinforces the Blayais and the Médoc in men. But on your arrival, you discover that there are no more soldiers to protect the fort.
An enigmatic message is displayed at the entrance, indicating that it is up to you to protect the fort and repel the assailants.
Your mission is to defend the Fort and discover the plans using the resources and knowledge you will find on site. You must prevent the English from taking control of the fort by solving puzzles, discovering hidden clues, and using your logic to find solutions.
The French soldiers are on their way from Bordeaux but we have to wait until then and explain to them what is wrong with the defence of the Fort.
Upon your arrival, you find an identity card of the last guard. This piece is accompanied by a handwritten letter from the Marshal of Montrevel, Governor of Guyenne, emanating directly from the King of France, Louis XIV, giving you all the instructions.
Exploring the Fort with your plan, you will discover secret rooms and underground passages that will test your problem-solving skills.
As you solve puzzles and gather clues, you will understand how this Fort worked and what it lacks to strengthen its defenses.
A final quiz will allow you to find out the plans and understand how Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, chief engineer of Louis XIV, designed his citadels.
On your next visit to a Fort Vauban, you will never see this type of construction again with the same eye.
