Ce lundi, François Constantin et invités de marque rendent hommage à deux géants du jazz américain : Wes Montgomery, le magicien de la guitare, et Jimmy Smith, maître incontesté de l’orgue Hammond.
L’un révolutionna la guitare jazz avec ses célèbres octaves et son toucher inimitable, l’autre fit groover l’orgue comme personne, mêlant swing, soul et blues dans un style devenu légendaire. Ensemble, Wes et Jimmy ont incarné une fusion intense entre virtuosité et feeling, notamment dans leur mythique collaboration sur l'album The Dynamic Duo (1966).
Avec la crème du jazz français : Fred Nardin, dont la musicalité et le sens du swing s’imposent sur chaque touche. Hugo Lippi, au jeu fluide et élégant, parfaitement dans l’esprit de Wes. Romain Sarron, moteur rythmique à la fois subtil et puissant.

This Monday, François Constantin and distinguished guests pay tribute to two giants of American jazz: Wes Montgomery, the guitar wizard, and Jimmy Smith, the undisputed master of the Hammond organ.
One revolutionized jazz guitar with his famous octaves and inimitable touch, the other made the organ groove like no other, blending swing, soul, and blues in a style that has become legendary. Together, Wes and Jimmy embodied an intense fusion of virtuosity and feeling, notably in their legendary collaboration on the album The Dynamic Duo (1966).
With the cream of French jazz: Fred Nardin, whose musicality and sense of swing are evident on every key; Hugo Lippi, with his fluid and elegant playing, perfectly in the spirit of Wes; and Romain Sarron, a rhythmic engine both subtle and powerful. An evening full of groove, improvised dialogue, and wonderful surprises, in the spirit of the sessions of yesteryear, but with the very current energy of the Parisian scene.
