Voyageuse et rêveuse, Sohella puise son inspiration de ses nombreux périples, du Mali au Kenya, en passant par la Chine, la Mongolie, la Sibérie, les États-Unis et les Antilles. Elle y construit un univers singulier, entre chansons françaises, pop-folk, blues et influences afro-pop, ponctué parfois d’envolées russes en clin d’œil à ses origines. 

Bercée par Brassens, Cabrel, Mano Solo, Tracy Chapman, Ben Harper ou Ayo, elle est également profondément marquée par le gospel, qu’elle a pratiqué pendant plus de dix ans aux côtés notamment de Georges Seba, du Chœur Gospel de Paris, d’Eternity Gospel Choir et de New Gospel Family. 

Avec son timbre de voix médium et mature, elle partage aujourd’hui la scène avec le guitariste et chanteur Vincent Faucher et le bassiste Thierry Fanfant, musicien incontournable de la scène française et internationale, qui compte plus de 800 enregistrements à son actif. Leur complicité donne naissance à une musique chaleureuse, envoûtante et généreuse.

A traveller and dreamer, Sohella draws inspiration from her many journeys, from Mali to Kenya, via China, Mongolia, Siberia, the United States and the Caribbean. There she crafts a unique musical world, blending French chanson, pop-folk, blues and Afro-pop influences, occasionally punctuated by Russian-inspired passages as a nod to her heritage.

Raised on the music of Brassens, Cabrel, Mano Solo, Tracy Chapman, Ben Harper and Ayo, she has also been deeply influenced by gospel music, which she sang for over ten years alongside artists such as Georges Seba, the Paris Gospel Choir, the Eternity Gospel Choir and the New Gospel Family.

With her warm, mature, mid-range voice, she now shares the stage with guitarist and singer Vincent Faucher and bassist Thierry Fanfant, a leading figure on the French and international music scene, who has over 800 recordings to his name. Their chemistry gives rise to music that is warm, captivating and rich.
