Il y a des parcours qui sentent la musique avant même qu’on les entende… et celui de Kristof Négrit en fait clairement partie.

Bercé dès l’enfance par les rythmes du gwo ka et du konpa au sein d’une famille de musiciens, il fait très tôt de la batterie bien plus qu’un instrument : un véritable compagnon de vie. Installé à Paris, il construit son chemin au fil de collaborations avec des artistes de la scène caribéenne et jazz.

Aujourd’hui, il se dévoile à travers État d’âme, un projet intime, comme un carnet musical où chaque morceau traduit une émotion vécue — entre nostalgie, inspiration et moments de joie transformés en musique.

Son univers, ancré dans le jazz caribéen, mêle afrobeat, gwo ka, zouk et jazz moderne. Un métissage naturel qui puise dans ses racines guadeloupéennes tout en dialoguant avec des sonorités contemporaines, pour créer un langage personnel, authentique et vivant.

Entouré d’une équipe de proches collaborateurs, il donne à cet album une dimension collective et complice. Pensé pour la scène, État d’âme est une expérience immersive : huit titres comme autant de voyages, entre traditions et modernité, entre Guadeloupe et ailleurs.

There are some careers that smell of music even before you hear them... and Kristof Négrit 's is clearly one of them.

Lulled from childhood by the rhythms of gwo ka and konpa in a family of musicians, he soon made the drums much more than just an instrument: they became his life's companion. Based in Paris, he has built his career on collaborations with artists from the Caribbean and jazz scenes.

Today, he reveals himself through État d'âme, an intimate project, like a musical diary in which each track translates an emotion he has experienced - between nostalgia, inspiration and moments of joy transformed into music.

His universe, rooted in Caribbean jazz, blends afrobeat, gwo ka, zouk and modern jazz. It's a natural blend that draws on his Guadeloupean roots while interacting with contemporary sounds to create a personal, authentic and vibrant language.

Surrounded by a team of close collaborators, he gives this album a collective, collaborative dimension. Designed for the live stage, État d'âme is an immersive experience: eight tracks like so many journeys, between tradition and modernity, between Guadeloupe and elsewhere.
