À la croisée des mondes, Pablo Murgier façonne une musique libre et vibrante, quelque part entre le jazz contemporain, l’écriture classique et l’énergie du rock et des musiques latino-américaines. Pianiste et compositeur curieux, il revendique un jazz ouvert, sans frontières, où l’improvisation est avant tout une affaire de jeu, d’écoute et de plaisir partagé.

Dans le cadre de la Journée internationale du jazz, célébration mondiale créée par l’UNESCO pour mettre en lumière le jazz comme langage universel favorisant le dialogue, la paix et la diversité culturelle, ce concert s’inscrit dans cet esprit de partage et d’ouverture.

Dans cette version solo, le piano devient un espace d’expression directe et intime, où chaque nuance prend toute sa place. Sans les autres instruments du trio, la musique se déploie différemment, laissant apparaître plus nettement les contrastes, les respirations et la richesse du geste pianistique. On y retrouve des influences allant de Brad Mehldau à l’élan rythmique de Gonzalo Rubalcaba, dans un jeu mêlant tension, lyrisme et liberté.

Seul au clavier, Pablo Murgier concentre l’essence de son univers : une énergie brute, une écriture sensible et une grande liberté de ton. Un solo habité, généreux, qui invite à l’écoute autant qu’au lâcher-prise.

Instaurée en 2011 par l’UNESCO et portée par Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz (aujourd’hui Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz), la Journée internationale du jazz est célébrée chaque année le 30 avril. Elle vise à mettre en lumière le rôle du jazz comme langage universel, capable de favoriser le dialogue entre les peuples, la tolérance, la diversité culturelle et la coopération internationale.

At the crossroads of many worlds, Pablo Murgier fashions a music that is free and vibrant, somewhere between contemporary jazz, classical writing and the energy of rock and Latin American music. An inquisitive pianist and composer, he embraces an open, borderless style of jazz, where improvisation is above all a matter of playing, listening and sharing pleasure.

As part of International Jazz Day, a worldwide celebration created by UNESCO to highlight jazz as a universal language that fosters dialogue, peace and cultural diversity, this concert is in keeping with this spirit of sharing and openness.

In this solo version, the piano becomes a space for direct, intimate expression, where every nuance takes its rightful place. Without the other instruments of the trio, the music unfolds differently, revealing more clearly the contrasts, the breathing and the richness of the pianistic gesture. There are influences ranging from Brad Mehldau to the rhythmic momentum of Gonzalo Rubalcaba, in a style that combines tension, lyricism and freedom.
