Starting in the Saint-Germain area and ending in the Marais, this tour shows the evolution of the LGBTQ+ rights in France and the ways queer kings and queens, artists of the 1900s and today’s community resist to discrimination.
The tour takes you to cafés, libraries, meeting places for activists and other emblematic places for queer personalities who lived in Paris like: Nathalie Clifford Barney, Josephine Baker, Oscar Wilde or Monique Wittig.
You will also learn about homosexuality and bisexuality in the royal milieu and the way the current authorities of the city try to keep alive the memory of the LGBTQ+ struggles in an area that is massively gentrifying.
