Dear ones,

 

In less than a month (19 July) I'll be embarking on another so-called Long Dance Ceremony for 3 days of fasting and praying through dancing with my Movement Medicine community.

 

And I need you.

 

A part of this prayer-ceremony is to move actual matter - in the form of money - to a place that needs it. This time I am raising funds for Satyam: a place dedicated to peace for Palestinians, Israelis and internationals to rest and create change together.

 

INTENTION OF THE LONG DANCE CEREMONY

The intention of this ceremony is to connect to life more deeply at a time when it is often challenging for me/us to feel what is to be felt... A ceremony to make more space for all of life in myself and remember in my cells that we are all related, and that peace is the purpose. A ceremony to dedicate a prayer, a prayer through movement to something greater than myself. In this context raising funds is a way to bridge the realm of prayer/dreaming with matter.

 

PRAYING IN THE MIDST OF MADNESS

This year is particular. Every month seems to lead us deeper into a spiral of violence and madness. Often, after reading news I get in my head, and I need more thought, more news, and so on. The mind agitates to avoid feeling its powerlessness. 

 

There is an alternative that sometimes I remember: TO PRAY. 

 

Whether it is in my bed with eyes closed or dancing on the dance floor, I can choose to take back control of my mental activity and dedicate my heart beat, my breath to love, to life, to peace. For some parts of me it's non-sense and frivolous, but it is the experience of prayer that tells me that it does have an impact. It impacts at the very least my capacity to meet the world.

 

My prayer is for PEACE. As cliché as it sounds. As current as it was.

 

THE RECIPIENT OF MY PRAYER: SATYAM HOMELAND

This year I am raising funds for Satyam Homeland, a project started in March 2024 by friends in Palestine to bring Palestinians, Israelis and internationals together in one place to resource, to practice PEACE and dream another world across the divides. Right where it might seem the most difficult.

Satyam is based in Occupied West Bank.

 

I have the goal or raising at least 555 €. The project will make use of every cent you're willing to give in support. It will contribute to pay for rent, energy bills, scholarships for Palestinian participants.

 

"Satyam is a Palestinian women led center, supported by Israelis and Internationals, opened in March 24 amid raging war. It is currently the only center where both Palestinians and Israelis can access freely. We create spaces for non-violent activists from both sides to connect, heal, learn, recharge, vision, and embrace the responsibility of building a future that will benefit everyone living here."
