Atelier Simonet, official Naka ryu studio in France, is located near subway station Mairie d'Aubervilliers (4minutes) Ligne12.

You should be 18+ to participate to this event and come by pair. 

 All participants are invited to the Saturday night public session. Then the venue will stay open until midnight on Saturday, if you want to do ropes. 

 This is a 2-day intensive intermediate Kanna-style semenawa workshop taught by Mango, an authorized instructor of the style. His partner for the workshop will be Lies.

This intermediate weekend workshop will include some of Nawashi Akechi Kanna signature ties. Kanna’s style is restrictive, includes complete control of the body and often plays with the breath. Ties for this workshop will include floor play, partial suspension and full suspension. Possible ties could include: yoko-dzuri (side-suspension), gyaku-ebi (inverted shrimp), teppō, and a variation of a hojojutsu hishi takate kote. Specific content will be decided based on the level of the group.

This workshop will include painful ties, neck ties, crotch rope and a certain level of objectification. Playing during the class is encouraged as long as it respects the spirit and orientation of the ties demonstrated and the learning environment. Please make sure you feel comfortable with that. As one of the principles of Kanna-ryū is adapting to any body type, alternatives and extra options will be provided if necessary.

 Pre-requisites for riggers/tops:
Riggers must be comfortable tying in suspension.They must know how to use carabiners.
 

 Pre-requisites for models/bottoms:
- Having substantial previous suspension experience;
- Being able to tell the difference between blood circulation and nerve issues;
- Being able to communicate appropriately with their tying partner about their emotional and physical well-being.

  What to bring:
- At least nine ropes (7-8 meters/30ft, Ø 5-6mm), ideally jute rope or hemp rope;
- 4-5 climbing carabiners.

  Mango (aguacate/AGKT) (he/him) is originally from Europe and currently resides in Ottawa (Canada). Starting his rope journey in 2015 as a rigger, he enjoys challenging and tormenting ropes, the art of semenawa. His main interest lies in simple ties and in the classics of kinbaku. He equally enjoys exploring floorwork and suspensions as they allow a vast array of play possibilities. In 2022, Akechi Kanna, one of Japan's leading and most influential rope artists and teachers, named him an official instructor of her style. He has performed and shared his knowledge about rope in half a dozen countries across the world and closer to home. He is a co-founder of CORE, a successful rope education collective in Ottawa.

  Lies is an experienced rope bottom with over 8 years of experience. She has a professional background in educational psychology, and likes to facilitate models' understanding and learning processes. She is mostly passionate by the mental connection that can be achieved through ropes, and by raw, intense emotions. Different ways of suffering are an integral part of this.
