IBEX combine la virtuosité autour de l’improvisation de musiciens issus du jazz aux sons électroniques hardcore de la scène UK underground. Le projet se refuse à un seul genre ou catégorie et oscille entre Jungle, Drill, Future Bass, Hardcore Techno et UK Garage en restant entièrement dans une optique « live », improvisée et brute.
IBEX cherche à réinventer simultanément l’EDM et la musique improvisée en abolissant les frontières électroniques et acoustiques tout en conservant la dimension tribale qui unit les deux approches. IBEX présente au Baiser Salé leur tout premier concert ; une célébration de l’avenir des possibilités musicales et du besoin humain de danser.
Du haut de ses 20 ans, Nathan Mollet se nourri par des artistes tels qu’Avishai Cohen, Lyle Mays, Aaron Parks ou encore Saya Gray… C’est en jouant à la base des standards allant des Beatles aux illustres jazzmen même jusqu’à la musique de Radiohead, que Nathan a pu nourrir son goût pour l’improvisation. Il s’est très vite entouré de musiciens avec lesquels il partage ses compositions et créé des projets originaux et très actuels.
En résidence, il proposera tout au long de l’année des projets très différents les uns des autres et qui seront tous à l’image de sa vision contemporaine du jazz et de la musique.



IBEX combines the virtuosity around the improvisation of musicians from jazz with the hardcore electronic sounds of the UK underground scene. The project refuses to adhere to a single genre or category and oscillates between Jungle, Drill, Future Bass, Hardcore Techno and UK Garage while remaining entirely in a “live”, improvised and raw perspective.
IBEX seeks to simultaneously reinvent EDM and improvised music by breaking down electronic and acoustic boundaries while retaining the tribal dimension that unites the two approaches. IBEX presents their very first concert at Baiser Salé; a celebration of the future of musical possibilities and the human need to dance.
At the age of 20, Nathan Mollet is nourished by artists such as Avishai Cohen, Lyle Mays, Aaron Parks and Saya Gray... It is by playing the basis of standards ranging from the Beatles to the famous jazzmen even up to the music of Radiohead, which Nathan was able to nourish his taste for improvisation. He quickly surrounded himself with musicians with whom he shared his compositions and created original and very current projects.
In residence, he will propose projects throughout the year that are very different from each other and which will all reflect his contemporary vision of jazz and music.
