Les mélodies de LIFE AS IT IS sentent le soleil, la mer et la liberté. Elles oscillent entre la joie pure, la sérénité et cette petite « saudade » qu’ont les insulaires dans le cœur. Elles transportent l’auditeur au fil de rythmes chaloupés qui vont du Brésil à la Caraïbe, en passant par l’Océan Indien, terre chère au cœur d’Olivier Ker Ourio. Toutes les chansons ont été imaginées sur guitare classique, instrument central de l’album. Pour les interpréter, Olivier Ker Ourio s’est entouré de Mathis Cordier, jeune prodige guyanais marquisien réunionnais de 22 ans, qui restitue avec brio l’esprit des compositions tout en y apportant son style personnel et une saveur insulaire qui résonne avec les racines créoles de l’album.
La section rythmique, fidèle et talentueuse, est assurée par André Charlier et Benoît Sourisse, duo de musiciens expérimentés et complices de longue date, dont l’écoute et la musicalité apportent à chaque titre une profondeur et une énergie rare.

The melodies of LIFE AS IT IS evoke sunshine, sea, and freedom. They oscillate between pure joy, serenity, and that little bit of “saudade” that islanders carry in their hearts. They transport the listener with swaying rhythms that range from Brazil to the Caribbean, via the Indian Ocean, a place dear to Olivier Ker Ourio's heart. All the songs were conceived on classical guitar, the central instrument of the album. To perform them, Olivier Ker Ourio has teamed up with Mathis Cordier, a 22-year-old prodigy from French Guiana, Marquesas, and Réunion, who brilliantly captures the spirit of the compositions while bringing his own personal style and an island flavor that resonates with the Creole roots of the album.
The rhythm section, faithful and talented, is provided by André Charlier and Benoît Sourisse, a duo of experienced musicians and long-time collaborators, whose listening skills and musicality bring a rare depth and energy to each track.
