Saxophoniste et flûtiste à l’audace reconnue, le guyano-martiniquais Rodolphe Lauretta déploie une musique marquée par ses cultures plurielles. D’abord nourri de reggae puis de P-Funk, il a façonné en plus de trente ans de carrière un art singulier de l’hybridation, donnant naissance à un style qu’il revendique comme un « futur-jazz créole ».

Dans une transe sophistiquée harmoniquement et rythmiquement, sa musique fait dialoguer jazz et musiques créoles, soca, mazurka, futur-funk, hip-hop et broken beat, pour un groove puissant.

Cette esthétique s’incarne pleinement dans son projet Kreolia, lancé en 2021. L’album, riche de titres marquants, rend également hommage à Roy Hargrove et revisite avec éclat Haïti d’Alain Jean-Marie. Une fusion fluide, sans frontières, fidèle à l’esprit des musiques actuelles.

Avec KREOLIA II, Rodolphe Lauretta entouré de quatre brillants musiciens, pousse encore plus loin l’expérience et explore de nouveaux territoires où soca, mazurka et musiques traditionnelles trouvent un écrin jazz et groove. Une aventure musicale libre et dansante, présentée ici en avant-première, dont l’album paraîtra en 2026.

A saxophonist and flautist of acknowledged daring, Guyana-Martinique-born Rodolphe Lauretta's music is marked by the diversity of his cultures. First nurtured on reggae and then P-funk, over a career spanning more than thirty years he has fashioned a singular art of hybridisation, giving birth to a style he claims is a "future Creole jazz".

In a harmonically and rhythmically sophisticated trance, his music brings together jazz and Creole music, soca, mazurka, future-funk, hip-hop and broken beat to create a powerful groove.

This aesthetic is fully embodied in his Kreolia project, launched in 2021. The album, packed with outstanding tracks, also pays tribute to Roy Hargrove and brilliantly revisits Haïti by Alain Jean-Marie. It's a fluid, borderless fusion, true to the spirit of today's music.

With KREOLIA II, Rodolphe Lauretta, surrounded by four brilliant musicians, pushes the experiment even further and explores new territories where soca, mazurka and traditional music find a jazz and groove setting. A free, danceable musical adventure, previewed here, with an album due for release in 2026.
