Mime and Object work (Mixer Team Workshop)- By Cedric Marschal
This workshop focuses on a side-skill : miming and object and space work. Having a clear vision of your environment, the objects and furnitures that are around, the size and weight of the mimes you use, is an helpful friend to make your stories more true to you, your partners and the audience. It helps you react in a more consistent way, more grounded to the reality of your scene. In this workshop we will train our bodies to play truly in our imaginary environments, to make them more visible to us and the audience. It finds its inspiration in Lecoq's work, clown, commedia dell'arte. Let's take your mime in hand !
This is a 6-hour workshop that culminates to a mixer team performance.
Suitable for all levels of experience.

Where Should I Stay? - By Mico Pugliares
I know where to put myself on stage when there are others? And when I'm alone? The stage is a space to be occupied with the physical and this cannot be done random. I have to know where to stand, how to relate my "area" with that of others and how to relate my "area" with the rest of the stage. We'll figure out how to move, how to "be there" without covering the other actors, when it's my turn. then we will try to know and explore the space where there are my characters and my emotions, to live without parasitize, to exist without overpowering trying to figure out which is the focus of improvisation because “where I stay” tells a story.
This is a 3-hour workshop.

Sensing for Improvisers - By Laura Doorneweerd
This workshop is about feeling. Nothing emotional or navel-gazing: this will just be about the sense of touch.
We are going to experiment with fun, physical exercises that will help develop your character work. What will happen to your movement if you tape 4 fingers together? And which character is a result from wearing a silky scarf?
This workshop is inspired by Somatic Costumes and will give you easy, clear techniques of getting connected to your body and be more present.
You will discover what sensing will do with your impro. Expect to do little thinking, lots of moving, listen to music and just leap, discover and feel.

Comic Devices - By Kevin Scott
Comic Devices- A truly comic scene that really resonates and allows for laughs to build throughout a scene takes an understanding of comedic structures. Keeping scenes funny and the audience interested means improvising with structure and concepts towards a comedic story. Kevin Scott will introduce you to the comic devices that will make you go beyond your usual comic premises towards hilarious scenes and continuous comedy. The goal of the course is to provide a common language for improvisers to reference off stage and to follow while playing onstage. Going beyond funny characters and dialog towards funny scenes. Learning these comic devices will help improvisers go beyond the usual comic premises, sometimes referred to as the 'game' of the scene or the 'comic engine'. This workshop introduces players comic devices they may not have recognized before and gives a name to ones they may already know.

Between Jokes (Mixer Team Workshop) - By Jill Bernard
We have a collection of classic kid's jokes; we’re going to study the truth behind them. The improvisors read a joke aloud, and the scene that follows will answer the questions: What if this was a real situation? What’s the consequence? What is this world like? What is the moment after?
The show requires personifying objects, animals, ghosts, zombies and other kid joke subjects. It also requires the ability to do a grounded, realistic work so that there is contrast between the silliness of the joke and the poignancy of the scene.
This is a 3-hour workshop, which culminates to a mixer team performance.

Break It! (Mixer Team Workshop) - By Heather Urquhart & Jules Munns
From a haka to a ceilidh to the macarena, humans love both to move in unison and watch others move in unison. As you lose yourself in the activity, it creates and nurtures a temporary community where we move together, think together and create together. It turns a collection of individuals into a team. In this workshop, you will work on ‘yes and’ on a larger scale, experimenting with how scenes and group movement emerge naturally from each other. You will explore the rhythm of chaos and order, of individual and collective that make up organic freeform improvisation. With your team, you will create a collective instinct which frees individuals from the responsibility of thought. Scenes, movement and sound will flow easily and fluidly out of each other, creating a surreal and unstable landscape, defined and sustained by the collective awareness of the group.
This is a 6-hour workshop that culminates into a mixer team performance.

Give me a voice: Your power on stage - By Katarzyna Chmara
Have you ever had that feeling that when you express your emotions on stage your voice doesn’t always seem to be in the same team as you? Is your throat often dry and makes it difficult for the audience to hear you from the stage? Have you ever felt that although your characters may vary, they always speak in the same way and you cannot do anything about it however hard you try? Does your throat often hurt and you really don’t know how to control your breath and how not to pant while acting and improvising? If you answered YES to at least two of the questions above… this workshop is for you! It will give you practical hints how to: – work with your voice, – make your voice stronger, – be heard by everyone in the audience (even in the back seats), – change your voice while creating different characters, – identify and use bright and dark sides of your voice.

Unplug your brain and be silly - By Cedric Marschal

During this workshop, through guided exercises, we will unplug that brain to allow us to explore what our body language, intentions, emotions and imagination can suggest. Step by step we'll say goodbye to rational and let absurd and stupid guide us to new playgrounds where new amazing stories emerge.

Dimensions - By Laura Doorneweerd
How can you make the audience feel something? How do you make every scene feel like a breath of fresh air? Is there an easy way of knowing what is needed without getting into your head?
Meet the dimensions. An approach to improv where every player gets one area to focus on. These are focus points like staging, volume and tempo.
Especially very experienced players can benefit from this new approach. It encourages them to make choices they have never made.
The dimensions can be used in existing formats (especially those who seem to have lost their 'edge') or in their own format 'Welcome Change'.

Intimacy & Naturalism - By Heather Urquhart and Jules Munns
Want to tell realistic and engaging love stories on stage? Want to play scenes apart from the meet-cute and the break-up? Drawing on techniques developed by Heather and Jules for Ten Thousand Million Love Stories and inspired by Rama Nicholas of Impro Melbourne, this workshop will look at how you can create onstage trust with our fellow players and take your scenes to a deeply connected emotional place. During this workshop, you will explore classic romantic situations and also have fun with love stories in unexpected places. This workshop involves physical contact and can be challenging for some people. But don’t worry, all the clothes stay on. This workshop is about emotional, not physical intimacy.

Love The Silences - By Mico Pugliares
Often we find ourselves witnessing scenes of theatrical improvisation lacking scenic awareness, as though the fact itself That they're taking life on a theatrical internships had little importance. This workshop focuses on the importance of the character's intention and awareness, and on the concept that the text comes as a consequence. Improvisers should discover the text and don’t look for the words because it does not matter so much what you say as how you say it. It's a workshop based on non-verbal communication, pauses and silences and pantomime. Which are paramount and indispensable to convey truth and credibility to a scene or a character. We will work on intentions before encountering words, on expressive silences and pauses as a basic part of acting. In particular, we will focus on:
• intention as the heart of the text's line
• the silents as an help to let grow up a scene
This is a 6-hour workshop.

This is what I want - By Menelaos Prokos
If we kinda want to do it, the audience kinda wants to see it. Why not play passionately and with determination, while at the same time offering the audience a passionate experience? Be part of the life you are creating on stage, rather than feeling the obligation to just go along. Many times we see improvisers on stage being flimsy, unsure of the motives for their character, ending up making choices that don’t really make sense. That is because they do not know what their character actually WANTS! That makes the character seem unnatural, making it hard for the audience (and the players) to connect with what they are witnessing. In this workshop we work on our strongest desires in every moment, both as improvisers as well as the characters we bring to life on stage. We learn to always stand firmly on our feet, knowing what we want and how this will affect all our future choices.
