SOCA SPECTRUM - Caribbean Dance Intensive

Soca Spectrum is a curated Caribbean dance experience centered on SOCA - presented as a full SPECTRUM of movement. This event goes beyond the “one-dimensional” stereotype of soca (only wining or only jumping) and showcases its versatility through different energies, tempos, and choreographic expressions, from power to groove, from fusion to technique.
What to expect
- 3 x 1,5h workshops with experienced instructors (all levels welcome)
- International guest teacher coming from NYC
- A space designed for dancers who want both culture and skill or just to have fun!
- 30 min cultural talk + open discussion with Kay (included only in Full Pass ticket)
Teachers
Kay Lvoe (NYC) - Main Guest
International Caribbean dancer known for high-energy movement, strong waistline technique, and soca choreography. Performed with major artists including Machel Montano. She created her signature dance concept Wukkin With Kay.
Marie Kerida (Belgium)
One of Belgium’s most recognized dancehall teachers and creator of the Groove camp. Stage choreographer with a lot of experience working with many famous Caribbean artists (including Shenseea, Konshens, Ayra Starr and soca star Mical Teja).
Monika ‘Baygos’ (Belgium) – Organizer, host
Founder of Belgian Soca Lovers community. She expresses her passion for soca by travelling regularly for various Caribbean carnivals, educating about music, culture and creating and teaching choreographies. Created feminine dance concept called Divine Wine.
