Inspirée par le stambeli tunisien, l’arabo-andalou et les grandes voix arabes de son enfance, Soraya Toukabri y mêle compositions originales, standards de jazz et classiques revisités avec une sincérité qui fait mouche.
Mêlant français, arabe et anglais, Soraya raconte des fragments de son histoire et célébre une identité artistique multi-facettes. Sur scène, elle est entourée de Omar El Ouaer au piano, Joachim Govin à la contrebasse et Damien Françon à la batterie, et ensemble ils offrent un concert intimiste, vibrant et généreux, où jazz, tradition et modernité se rencontrent avec naturel et émotion.

When jazz meets the colors of the Orient and the rhythms of North Africa, the result is the Soraya Toukabri Quartet: a vibrant, multicultural universe full of surprises. Inspired by Tunisian stambeli, Arab-Andalusian music, and the great Arab voices of her childhood, Soraya Toukabri blends original compositions, jazz standards, and revisited classics with a sincerity that hits the mark.
Mixing French, Arabic, and English, Soraya recounts fragments of her history and celebrates a multifaceted artistic identity. On stage, she is accompanied by Omar El Ouaer on piano, Joachim Govin on double bass, and Damien Françon on drums. Together, they offer an intimate, vibrant, and generous concert, where jazz, tradition, and modernity come together with naturalness and emotion.
