Bänana has been practicing bondage since she was young and discovered shibari about ten years ago, drawn to its raw and authentic nature. Fascinated by the expression of emotion, she sees rope as a space for exploration, intensity, and creativity.
As a switch in her personal practice, she brings both the rigger’s and the rope bottom’s perspectives into her teaching, paying close attention to the experience of both sides of the rope. She explores rope beyond fixed roles and expectations, making space for different bodies, experiences, and ways of practicing.
As a teacher, Bänana emphasizes understanding the reasons behind techniques rather than simply learning them by rote, encouraging students to develop a deeper understanding of what they practice.
Drawn particularly to semenawa and emotional exploration, she regularly teaches internationally in both French and English, while remaining deeply attached to her cozy Paris space, La Cabäne.

* LAVANDE
When discovering shibari in 2020, Lavande (no pronouns / they/them) also found a practice that would become central to their life. Although a switch, they have more experience as a bottom/model. Shibari allowed them to discover the concept of proprioception and its nuances within rope. Lavande is deeply invested in the experience of bottoms in the classes they teach, helping them better understand what happens in their bodies as well as providing practical tips for each bondage. As a bottom, Lavande is particularly drawn to a minimalist aesthetic that expresses suffering, with a little obsession for backbend and torsions. For them, the most important aspect of their practice remains sharing a genuinely great moment with their partner. Since late 2024, they have been organizing meet-ups for bottoms and actively engaging in the classes they co-teach. Lavande also designs specific workshops for bottoms, firm in the belief that being tied is a skill that can be learned.

This course is suitable for riggers who are comfortable tying in partial.
Having already been tied several times in partial is necessary for the models.

Communication being a central element in shibari it is always preferable to come with a partner with whom you already practice in order to allow a good experience. It's important to have already discussed the framework of your practice (desires, intentions, limits, ways of managing consent).

A minimum of 8-10 jute ropes (or hemp eventually), ideally 6mm in diameter and averaging 7-8 meters in lenght will be required.e

The worshop is open to English speakers. If non-French speakers are present, the workshop will be in English! If everyone speaks French, it will be in French! :)
