On 2 December, TEDxBrussels brings (Dis)agree to the Théâtre National with one question: do we have to agree to build something together, whether it is a society, a company, a life or a relationship?
The city gives the question plenty to work with: 19 municipalities, two official languages and 104 languages recorded among its residents in a 2024 survey. Brussels is divided. Brussels has a long habit of building across its divisions.
In four steps, the speakers will look at why disagreeing is so hard, how we live with it, whether agreement should be the goal at all and what we can build without it. Some talks will question what the earlier ones set up. You will hear several answers and leave with your own.
