THIBAUT CRASSIN
Thibaut Crassin’s work lies at the intersection of classical repertoire and contemporary creation. He is particularly interested in repetitive forms and in setups where the piano is extended through electronics.
Trained at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, he has developed a practice focused on contemporary sound explorations and on formats in which the piano interacts with pre-recorded material. This program brings together works by Steve Reich, Pierre Jodlowski and Luc Ferrari, offering three distinct approaches to the relationship between piano and electronics: repetitive loops and electric energy in Reich’s music, narrative tension combining voice and synthetic textures in Jodlowski’s work, and a universe oscillating between kitsch, melancholy, abstraction and humor in Ferrari’s pieces.
Program:
Steve Reich - Piano Counterpoint
Pierre Jodlowski - Série noire
Luc Ferrari - Collection de petites pièces ou 36 enfillades
ATRA.MENTIS
Atra.mentīs is the musical project of Alice Janne, a Belgian interdisciplinary artist whose practice centers on spatial composition, combining sculpture, space, video and sound.
After a period performing in post-punk bands, Alice gradually shifted her musical work toward solo live performance. In this context, she develops a universe that can be more intimate, drawing from dream writing, or more raw, shaped by synthetic textures, industrial rhythms, atmospheric layers and melodic fragments.
While the project Atra explores the boundaries of techno, Atra.mentīs marks a return to the keyboard, where she develops a more sensitive and intuitive language, oscillating between ambient and experimental music. At the core of her approach lies the dialogue between acoustic piano and synthesizers, resulting in an aesthetic that is both organic and electronic.
