THIBAUT CRASSIN
Thibaut Crassin’s work lies at the intersection of classical repertoire and contemporary creation. He is particularly interested in repetitive forms and in setups where the piano is extended through electronics.
Trained at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, he has developed a practice focused on contemporary sound explorations and on formats in which the piano interacts with pre-recorded material. This program brings together works by Steve Reich, Pierre Jodlowski and Luc Ferrari, offering three distinct approaches to the relationship between piano and electronics: repetitive loops and electric energy in Reich’s music, narrative tension combining voice and synthetic textures in Jodlowski’s work, and a universe oscillating between kitsch, melancholy, abstraction and humor in Ferrari’s pieces.
Program:
Steve Reich - Piano Counterpoint
Pierre Jodlowski - Série noire
Luc Ferrari - Collection de petites pièces ou 36 enfillades
ATRA.MENTIS
Atra.mentīs is the musical project of Belgian interdisciplinary artist Alice Janne. At the core of her practice, spatial composition merges sculpture, video, and sound.
After exploring post-punk energy, Alice now develops a more intimate solo universe, shaped by her dream narratives.
Between raw synthetic textures, industrial rhythms, and atmospheric layers, her work moves fluidly between ambient and experimentation.
While her project Atra__ explores the boundaries of techno, Atra.mentīs marks a return to the keyboard, embracing a more intuitive language and creating an organic dialogue between acoustic piano and synthesizers.
This live performance draws inspiration from the world of Éric Satie, deconstructing phrases from his Gnossiennes and Nocturnes, as well as from the hypnotic repetition of Steve Reich.
At the crossroads of classical tradition, modern minimalism, and ambient noise, the performance weaves together piano, bass, machines, and birdsong.
