As night falls, after a stroll through the gardens, a festive picnic, and a taste of local flavors, let yourself be swept away by “Raconte-moi Madame Butterfly,” an original and accessible adaptation of Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece.
 
Presented by the Compagnie Opéra Clandestin, this outdoor performance—combining song and narration—introduces you to one of opera’s most beautiful love stories in a lively, moving, and accessible format.

Madame Butterfly: An Unforgettable Passion
 
In Japan, in the early 20th century, the young Cio-Cio San—nicknamed Butterfly—believes she has found love with the American officer Pinkerton.
But when he leaves the country, a long wait filled with hope, loyalty, and sacrifice begins.
 
Set to Puccini’s most famous melodies, this universal story of love and destiny continues to move audiences around the world.

There is a car park along the park walls, outside the estate. Please follow the signs in place to help keep traffic flowing smoothly on the county road.

If you’re bringing your own food, you can leave your picnic basket in a storeroom in the castle’s outbuildings before enjoying the gardens.

A refreshment bar serving chilled drinks, beer and soft drinks will be open throughout the evening, except during the opera performance.
