In the fall of 2026, the Abbaye du Val Saint Lambert will host Lumina Crystallis, an immersive live performance bringing together singers and opera artists, musicians, dancers, acrobats, circus performers, aerialists, and magical figures, united each evening in a total theatrical production.
It is a performance brought to life by artists on stage, where bodies, voices, and music are at the heart of the experience. Video, lighting, and technology are never standalone elements: they interact with the living, extend the movement, and amplify the emotion.
Music is the backbone of the show. Lyrical voices, solo songs, orchestral compositions, and soundscapes structure the narrative, carry the scenes, and accompany the movements. Singing, breathing, rhythm, and the pulse of sound guide the eye as much as the light.
In this universe, fire, crystal, transparency, and reflection become elements of the stage. The artists move on the ground and in the air, passing through beams of light, emerging from above or disappearing into the shadows, as if drawn by the brilliance of the crystal. Monumental video projections embrace the abbey’s architecture, not as a static backdrop, but as a living element serving the drama.
What does this material, born of fire and human action, contain?
What fragments of memory do light and music still awaken today?
Accessible to all audiences, Lumina Crystallis is a collective, intergenerational experience that blends visual wonder, musical emotion, and human presence.
A major production for the Bicentennial, Lumina Crystallis follows in the tradition of Luc Petit’s grand productions: shows where heritage becomes the stage, where the performing arts take center stage, and where technology enhances the human experience without ever replacing it.
Where matter becomes light. And light, memory.
