Why this weekend?
“Peace is not something you wish for; it is something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.”
— Marshall Rosenberg
In today’s political and economic climate, our Western democracies are being seriously shaken — sometimes even called into question.
Our environment is collapsing. Our values are shifting. Information floods our feeds, yet our trust in its truthfulness is steadily eroding.
The result? Our societies, our communities — and sometimes even our families — are tearing themselves apart.
Faced with fear, misunderstanding, pain, anger, and hatred, we search desperately for answers and solutions that might allow us to live in peace and security.
We want to know who is right, who is wrong, and to find someone to blame for our misfortunes.
And meanwhile, the bonds fray. Words wound. Trust wears thin. And hatred grows — rumbling like a monster that devours everything in its path.
